The history of the Aerospace Faculty begins in 1933.
 
The faculty has 11 departments:

Department of Aviation Engines,
Department of Automation and Energy Management ,
Department of Aerodynamics and Aircraft Flight Safety ,
Department of Hydro-Gas Systems ,
Aircraft Continuing Airworthiness Department ,
Department of Aircraft Design ,
Department of Engineering, Standardization and Certification,
Department of Mechanics ,
Department of Airport Technologies ,
Department of General and Applied Physics ,
Department of Computerized Electrical Systems and Technologies ,

 as well there are research and development engineering aviation centers, training aerodrome, hangar with natural models of aircraft, aviation engine test station, aerodynamic test tubes, specialized classes of aviation and missile technologies.

The faculty has a strong educational and scientific base for training specialists in the fields of Aviation and Space-rocket Technology, Aviation Transport, Applied Physics and Nanomaterials, Automation and Computer Integrated Technologies, Energy Engineering, Power engineering, electrical engineering and electromechanics, Metrology and information-measuring technique.
 
For students with appropriate language training, there are groups where the full course of study is conducted in English.
 Departments of the faculty work closely with industrial enterprises, aviation companies and scientific institutions, where students receive training in specialty subjects, production practices, and execute and defend graduate projects. Among these companies are: “ANTONOV” State Enterprise, repair plant №410 CA, aviation companies and airports of Ukraine, “ARMA” central design bureau, state-owned holding company “ARTEM”, design bureau “LUCH”, state-owned company “Ukrtransgas” and others.
